Setup - Email Setup 

 

Here you will find the most common email setups. There are a lot more out there and if you are interested in a diffrent program just give us a call. We can give you the settings for it. If it is not a program we are familiar with, we will get the settings you need for it. 


 

Outlook Express/ Windows Mail

   1. Open Outlook Express, then click Tools > Accounts > Add > Mail.
   2. Enter your name as you would like it to appear, and then click Next. (e.g. John Doe)
   3. Enter your full email address, and click Next. (e.g. This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it )
   4. Verify the incoming mail server is a POP3 server.
   5. Enter mail.netwurx.net for both the incoming and outgoing mail server, and click Next.
   6. Verify the Username (the full email address) is in the Account name field.
   7. Enter the password in the password field and select remember password. Click Next.
   8. Select the Finish button and close out Internet accounts window.
 

Outgoing:

   1. With Outlook Express open, click on Tools > Accounts
   2. In the Accounts window, click the mail account mail.netwurx.net to highlight it, and then click the Properties button on the right.
   3. In the Properties window, click the Servers tab at the top.
   4. Place a check mark in the box at the bottom where it says "My server requires authentication"
   5. Click on the Advanced tab, change the Outgoing mail (SMTP) port from 25 to 587.
Nothing else should be changed.
   7. Click the Apply button on the Properties window, and then click OK and Close.


 

Outlook 2000 / 2002 /2003

1. Open up Microsoft Outlook 2000 / 2002 / 2003
2. Click on 'Tools' at the top, then 'Email Accounts'
3. Click on 'Add a new email account' then click 'Next'
4. Select 'POP3' and click 'Next'
5. Under the 'User Information' heading, input your name and email address
6. Under 'Logon Information', for the username, input your full email address. Underneath that, input your email address's password. You may check 'remember password' if you would like. Make SURE that 'Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)' is UNCHECKED.
7. Under 'Server Information', for both the incoming and outgoing email servers, input 'mail.netwurx.net'
8. Click on the 'More Settings' button. Go to the 'Outgoing Server' tab, and check the box labeled 'My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication'. Make sure the button is set to 'Use same settings as incoming mail server'
9. Click on the 'Advanced' tab. Change the Outgoing Port number to '587'. Make sure 'Incoming' remains at 110, and that  'This server requires a secure connection (SSL)' remains UNCHECKED for both incoming and outgoing.
10. Click 'OK'. Then click 'Next' and 'Finish' on the main settings window. This should have your email all set up!


 

Thunderbird (NetwurX recommended)

      1.      Click Tools
2.      Click Account Settings
3.      Click Account Actions
4.      Click Add Mail Account
5.      Type personal name, email address and password.
6.      Click Continue
7.      Click Stop button
8.      Type email address for username
9.      Type mail.netwurx.net for incoming and outgoing servers
10.  Change IMAP to POP
11.  Change port 143 to 110
12.  Make sure number next to SMTP says 587 not 25.
13.  Set STARTTLS to None
14.  Click Manual Setup
15.  Highlight outgoing server (SMTP) at the bottom of the left hand side.
16.  On the right hand side, if you see mail.netwurx.net in the box click ok at the bottom and your done. If not,
17.  Click the ADD button on the right.
18.  Add mail.netwurx.net to the server name
19.  Change the port from 25 to 587.
20.  Use name and password should be check marked and your FULL EMAIL ADDRESS should be in the User name field.
21.  Use secure authentication should not be checked.
22.  Connection security should be none.
23.  Click OK to close Account Settings window

 


 

MAC Mail


1. Click the Mail icon in the Dock
2. Go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts, then click on the "+" (plus) sign in the lower-left corner
3. Enter the following information:
    * The Full Name field contains the name from your Mac OS X user account settings; you may change it if you wish
    * In the Email Address field, enter your NetwurX email address ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it )
    * In the Password field, enter your NetwurX password
4. Click Continue.
5. In the Incoming Mail Server window, enter the following configuration settings:
    * Account Type: POP
    * Description: Netwurx POP
    * Incoming Mail Server: mail.netwurx.net
    * User Name: enter your full email address ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it )
    * Password: enter your email password
6. Click Continue
    * Incoming Mail Security, make sure "Use Secure Sockets Layer" is NOT checked
    * Authentication: Password
    * Click Continue
7. In the Outgoing Mail Server window, enter the following configuration settings:
    * Description: enter NetwurX    * Outgoing Mail Server: mail.netwurx.net
    * Select the Use Authentication checkbox
    * Username: enter your full email address ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it )
    * Password: enter your email password
8. Click Continue
    * Incoming Mail Security, make sure "Use Secure Sockets Layer" is NOT checked
    * Authentication: Password
    * Click Create
Outgoing:
1. Click the Mail icon in the Dock
2. Go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts
3. In the list of accounts at the left, click to select your NetwurX POP account
4. On the *Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) pop-up menu select Edit Server List
5. In the list of servers, click to select the NetwurX outgoing mail server, and click Advanced
6. In the advanced settings window, enter the following configuration settings:
    * Server Port: change this from 25 to 587
    * Username: enter your full email address ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it )
    * Password: enter your email password
7. Click Ok
